Suduko Facts
The word Suduko or Sudoku as it is correctly spelt
is an aviation of a longer Japanese phrase "Suuji wa dokushin
ni kagiru". Translated into English this means "the
numbers must remain single"
The puzzle was first created by a chap called Howard
Garns, and the puzzle was first published in 1979.
Suduko puzzles were first published in New York
by puzzle publisher Dell in a magazine called Dell Pencil Puzzles
and Word Games, however the name of the game was originally "Number
Place"
The puzzle got its name "Sudoku" in 1984
when the puzzle was introduced to Japan by Nikoli.
